What We Grow

What We Grow

At Boulder Flower Farm, we grow a vibrant and ever-evolving mix of flowers from early spring to fall. Whether you purchased a Flower Share or are ordering a bucket of Wedding & Event Flowers, here’s a closer look at some of the varieties we grow.

What flowers bloom in May?

At the end of May, the season begins with over 15 varieties of fragrant Peonies. We grow a range of red, white and pink varieties.

How about June?

Early June is marked by the peak peony harvest with over 10,000 plants being harvested. This is one of our absolute favorite times on the farm. We always let several buds on each plant fully bloom - coloring the fields with beautiful pops of red, pink and white.

The peony harvest typically ends between the 2nd and 3rd week of June, and we transition to harvesting purple and white Scabiosa blooms as well as Iris, Red Hot Poker, Veronica, Liatris, Baby's Breath, Bells of Ireland, Dianthus, Agrostemma, Campanula, Lilies.

Do you grow anything year-round?

Yes! Thanks to our greenhouse, we grow a few favorites throughout the year:

Asiatic and Oriental Lilies – These staples offer color, fragrance, and reliable beauty, even when the outdoor fields are resting.

How can I enjoy these flowers?

There are two easy ways to bring our flowers into your life:

1. Purchase a Flower Share (1x purchase and reoccurring options available) for fresh, seasonal blooms.

2. Order a bucket of Wedding & Event Flowers. Choose single-variety bunches, vibrant mixed bouquets, or custom vase arrangements.

Whether you’re planning a wedding, a gathering, or simply love fresh flowers, we look forward to growing something beautiful for you.
